Oldsmobile Antares (1995)

Taking its styling cues from the then recently introduced Aurora, the Antares sedan was said to forshadow the 1997 Cutlass Supreme (which was renamed Intrigue, and delayed to 1998). Antares was the first Oldsmobile to wear the new Oldsmobile logo. It was 17 inches shorter than an Aurora, but rode on nearly the same 113.5-inch wheelbase. That allowed full size room in a mid-size package. Inside, designers used brushed metal for controls, switches and dash faceplates. A feature Olds had hoped to retain into production. Auto Week awarded Antares with “Best Concept Car” at the Detroit show.
